I've missed your Past Lane Travels. So glad they're back. (And you, too, of course!)

I went to Mount Vernon when I was a young girl. The thing I remember the most was as I was approaching the grave, a snake was crossing the walk right in front of me!

The River side of the mansion is being worked on so I couldn't sit on the porch, but they have chairs out on the lawn. The view is magnificent.

Jessica, I am so glad you are back! Hope things are well in your life.

I have been to Mount Vernon and it brought me to tears. George Washington was the one man who made the birth of this great country possible. What an honor it was to see the place he loved and walk where he walked. It's hard to pick one thing that stood out to me, but I think the back veranda with the wonderful view of the Potomac has to be one. I could see him there.
