As the calendar flipped over to 2023, I realized that this year marks the 160th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg.
Since Gettysburg is my hometown, I decided to write a post on Past Lane detailing everything you need to know about attending a Gettysburg Reenactment.
Actually, there will be two this year: June 23-25 and June 30-July 2.
There is much more to these Civil War reenactments, then just battle scenarios. They teach classes on Victorian-era topics, give presentations on Civil War medicine, have dances and period church services — and there is usually at least one wedding.
