I LOVE staying in old hotels, especially those as grand and welcoming as the Historic Hotel Bethlehem.
The site where this hotel sits has a recorded history of almost 300 years, being the site of the Moravians “First House” in Bethlehem before becoming the Golden Eagle Hotel.
The Eagle Hotel, which was prone to fires, was replaced by the current structure with major investments by Charles Schwab and Bethlehem Steel.
After falling into decline in the 1990s, the hotel underwent a major renovation project. It is now a combination of sophisticated luxury and old-time charm, with modern conveniences perfectly intertwined with an upscale, vintage atmosphere.
Here are a few of my favorite photos. As always you can visit my website and see the full story about this historic hotel.
Hi Jessica!
I love reading about the places you visit! I get so homesick for Bucks County, Pennsylvania, were I grew up.
I hope you know about The Golden Lamb in Ohio. It's been many years since we were there, but I hope it is still as lovely as I remember.
